Artist Statement
My work has taken many forms and styles over the years from weaving and painting to screen printing and intaglio prints. I enjoy fluid mark-making, layering mediums and colors, process experimentation, and simplicity and playfulness within art. Throughout the years, I have always emphasized the process of my art making, through both the artist's hand and happenstance, as well as only creating art where the process brings me joy, not just the final product. Most recently, my work focuses on the interaction of organic shapes, lines, patterns, and a variety of colors. I work with both muted, calm tones, as well as bright and refreshing ones, guided by my feelings in the moment. Simply put, my artwork and motivation has changed over the years into where I am now: making art that makes me happy with the hopes that it might make other people happy too!
